Cannonball throwing competition.

In numeracy the Yellow group had a cannonball throwing competition. They had to take it in turns behind the castle and see who could throw the cannonball the furthest.

Once the cannonballs had been thrown, the children had to decide what to use to measure the distance with. They had the choice of tape measures, metre sticks and trundle wheels.

They all chose trundle wheels to measure the long distances that they had thrown.

They needed to record them somehow to see who had thrown the furthest so we created a chart.

We had distances ranging from 3m to 10m - though I think Mr Edwards has a slight advantage being so tall!
